Participants in the Ramadan Majlis, held at the Majlis of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation, recommended the establishment of a "Majlis Al Khair" (Good Council) to unite all charitable associations and institutions in the country to cooperate and unify their efforts in charitable work, thereby contributing to community empowerment and efficient delivery of support to those in need.
This came during the Ramadan Majlis organized by the Board of Trustees of the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation, in the Majlis of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim. The Majlis was moderated by Dr. Mohammed Murad Abdullah, a member of the Board of Trustees. Speakers included Saeed Al Raqbani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Charity Association; Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Haddad, a member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees; Engineer Yahya Lootah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Engineer Adel Al Suwaidi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Charity Association; Dr. Ahmed Tahlak, Director of the Tarahum Charity Foundation; as well as some general managers of institutions and philanthropic organizations around the nation, along with a few chosen leaders, officials, and experts.
The Majlis discussed the importance of collaboration and integration in charitable work, the challenges of coordinating efforts, the role of innovation and technology in facilitating collaboration, assessing the impact of collaborations, identifying successful partnerships, and anticipating future collaborations. Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Haddad cited Islamic writings promoting compassion and giving to emphasize the value of collaboration in philanthropic endeavors, emphasizing that organizations' primary function is to distribute money to those in need, not to invest in or grow them.
The session concluded with recommendations for enhancing the integration of charitable institutions and organizations. These included the creation of a "Goodness Council" to coordinate efforts and streamline aid distribution, establishing zakat funds in all emirates, launching an electronic system to connect organizations, and developing unified digital platforms for information exchange and transparency. Awareness campaigns were also suggested to promote a culture of partnership and encourage active participation in charitable work. Workshops and brainstorming sessions were also organized to explore the future of charitable work. These recommendations aim to ensure a smoother and more transparent process for charitable organizations.
